Depth of field (DOF): the distance between the nearest and the furthest objects giving a focused image. In other words, the DOF is the range of objects in focus within a frame. The larger the aperture, the more shallow the DOF, and so the smaller number of objects in focus. |

Here's a picture I took (long time ago) with the largest aperture. As you see, only the guitar neck is sharp, while the rest of the photo is blurred. I use large aperture to draw the viewer's attention on what I think the photo I take is important for. But sometimes, taking picture with a very large aperture is just fun and super cool.
